Mr Patrick Hoima Makaya is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Right to Development a non-profit humanitarian organisation registered in DELAWARE in the United States of America. Mr Makaya is a Sierra Leonean- and holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics Education and a master's degree in Business Administration with an option in finance. He is an achievement-driven professional with more than twenty-one years of work experience. He has worked both in the private and public sectors. In the private sector, he has worked with various Non-governmental organizations and has contributed to the establishment of many charitable organizations both within and out of Sierra Leone and private businesses nationwide. He has worked on several projects funded by various donors/ partners, some of which include but are not limited to foundations and bilateral and multilateral organizations. In the public sector, he was a lecturer in the School of Social Sciences in one of the universities established by the Government of Sierra Leone called Njala University.
He is a development specialist experienced in identifying funding opportunities, fostering relationships with potential donors or grant-making organizations, and coordinating fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations and projects.
He is an expert in organizational capacity building, change process facilitation, executive coaching and mentoring.
Further skills include institutional analysis, networking, training design, presentation skills, human resources, community service delivery, financial management, training, monitoring and evaluation.
He has contributed to the production of various knowledge transfer products such as reports, policies, speaking notes, concurrences etc.
His wealth of experience has enable him to serve as Board of Trustees and consultant for various entities .
